The Circle of fifths is a
useful tool when you are improvising or writing a song, in that it tells you
which chords are used in which key. To use the circle, simply take any of the
notes on the circle (e.g. "C") and then look at the two notes that surround it
(in our case "F" and "G"). Those three chords make up the major chords in that
key.
