The Dreaded Hendrix Chord

Have you ever been trying to play some lead to a song and encountered this chord for an extended period of time?

You either have to know which scale(s) work with it or try to fake your way through it and hope nobody notices (and that's no fun). Well, no need to fret about it any longer! The scale below works and you can come up with some pretty cool patterns experimenting with it.

To find the notes of the scale start on the root of the chord, (in this case- E) move up 1 fret, (half step) then 2 frets, (whole step) then 1 fret, (another half step) then whole step (except play it on the next string) then half step, whole step, half step, whole step, and on and on! Below is one of my favorite patterns derived from this scale.
